Reviews
This new addition to the "Insider's Guide" series takes the traveler from Ontario to Newfoundland in its usual informative, chatty, and visually arresting manner. An introduction provides information on Eastern Canada's history, people, climate, and geography. Each province is then discussed with an emphasis on the history, sights, and lodging/dining facilities of major cities. The information on hotels and restaurants does not include prices but rather states generally if the establishment is "luxury," "midrange," or "inexpensive." And the descriptions of places to visit do not state hours or admission prices. Some travelers may find this lack of detail annoying; however, others will find the text and abundant photographs so outstanding as to outweigh any deficiencies. Appendixes provide useful travel tips, and a large pull-out map is attached. This would make a fine addition to most libraries.
