John Fitzpatrick teaches political science and is the Director of the State University of New York at Brockport's Washington Semester Program. John is a graduate of Georgetown University and has a Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He worked as a Congressional staffer for ten years and ran a political consulting firm for eight years.
Holly Burkhalter is Advocacy Director of Physicians for Human Rights, an international human rights organization. Holly is a graduate of Iowa State University and a recipient of one of its Distinguished Young Alumni awards. She is the author of numerous articles and op-ed pieces, and she frequently appears on radio and television discussing foreign policy. She is also the author of a cookbook/memoir, Four Midwestern Sisters Christmas Book (Viking Penguin, 1991).
John and Holly have been married since 1984. They have two daughters, Grace Bofa Fitzpatrick and Josie Bao-Ngan Fitzpatrick.
