Instant Coaching (Instant (Kogan Page)): Inspire Others to Reach Their Potential Now!

Organizations nowadays are realizing the power of coaching, and managers are having to develop new skills rapidly in order to make use of coaching techniques at work. But being a coach isn't the same as being a teacher. Successful coaches help to improve performance by drawing out and developing key strengths; they question and guide; they help people to focus and achieve more.

Yet, despite the fact that coaching is now seen as an essential technique to develop, some managers can find the shift to a coaching style of management difficult to achieve. Instant Coaching will quickly improve your ability to coach someone to work, provide a good grounding in the key skills you need to develop and boost your confidence. With practical advice, proven tips and with a set of 69 easy-to-use activities, this book will help to: coach both individuals and groups; assess an individual's current performance; develop a coaching plan; keep track of whether your coaching is having the right effect; learn how to motivate and communicate effectively.
