An instructional sewing manual, starting with the basics ("Thread is made from cotton, flax, wool or silk") and ending with an intermediate sewing pattern ("Kimona", i.e. a Kimono with French seams). Includes nine (9) typewritten leaves with instructions, alongside sewn fabric examples to illustrate. Information on appropriate needle and thread, basting, stitches, seams, patching, napery, french or damask hem, stocking darning, cashmere darning, buttonholes, k A valuable record of sewing instruction circa 1930s. 25 leaves of gray card, each measuring 9" by 7", sandwiched between two leaves of green and cream marbled paper and secured with orange cord. Typewritten leaves and sewing samples fastened to gray cards with small brass grommets. Good to very good. Water staining, cords delicate/loosening. Wrappers chipped with one small stain to upper right-hand corner of upper wrapper.
