Integration of Lasers and Fiber Optics into Robotic Systems (Tutorial Texts in Optical Engineering)

A broad variety of techniques described in this book, as applied to a number of tasks in robotics, provide the reader with a feel for the potential of lasers and fiber optics in this area of increasing relevance. The many examples of devices and systems that are included here are of interest to the nonspecialist as well as to the researcher and industrial practitioner.
Contents:
- Lasers and Fiber Optics in Industry and Robotics
- Laser-Based Measuring Systems for Robots
- Lasers Integrated with Robots for Material Processing
- Fiber Optic Sensors for Robots
- Fiber Optic Lighting and Imaging Systems in Machine Vision
- Fiber Optic Communication Systems in Robotics
- Approach to Designing a Fiber-Optics-Based Sensor System
- Conclusions
