He taught expository writing at Harvard and helped launch three teacher education programs there. His academic articles have appeared in national and regional newspapers and journals. He has worked for twenty-five years as headmaster, teacher, and consultant at independent schools in programs ranging from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade.
