Good+ softcover. Staple-bound. Small pencil date and name at front cover top edge; slight general age darkening of front cover, otherwise clean covers; tightly bound; clean interior. Articles by or about: Vermont, New Hampshire, food adulteration, pure food laws in VT, road making/building, Hartford VT, Trumbull C. Hunt, poet Elta M. Lewis of Bethel, major article on Montpelier Centennial, state house, Mayor Frank M. Corry, Pavilion Hotel, parade, fireworks, Old Constitution House at Windsor. 4to, 12 pp + covers. Inter-State Journal and Advertiser (and Advertiser dropped after 3rd issue) was published in White River Junction, VT from March 1900 through 1905. January 1906 it merged with The Vermonter magazine. All issues were large format (12 x 9.25 inches) on glossy stock. All issues had several larger articles, fiction pieces and numerous short pieces and poetry. All issues had many photos and many advertisements with drawings and art work. The editorial tone was casual with emphasis on home-life, virtue, Protestant Christianity and temperance. Also, pieces were submitted by Vermonters from abroad: South America, California, Boston, New York, Panama, etc.…
