About this Item
Print on Demand. This book presents an interactive FORTRAN IV computer program for computing thermophysical properties of six fluids: argon, ethylene, parahydrogen, nitrogen, nitrogen trifluoride, and oxygen. It is a companion publication to reference [5], which gives the historical and theoretical background of the equations used in this book. The program is designed for use with a computer terminal accessing a large computer in an interactive mode. The temperature and pressure range allowed for each fluid is automatically displayed when the fluid is first called. Properties are computed for the single phase or for the liquid-vapor boundary. A table of values or a single value is printed. The program returns values for pressure, temperature, density, internal energy, enthalpy, entropy, specific heat at constant volume and at constant pressure, and sound velocity. The program also provides instructions for calculating viscosity, thermal conductivity, and dielectric constant. The viscosity and thermal conductivity are given for some of the fluids. The dielectric constant is given for parahydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen, but not for argon, ethylene, or nitrogen trifluoride. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.
