Interclock of the Twisted Wing: Apocryphal confessions from the annals of furor

Guarded by a German shepherd in a deeply clandestine shelter for abused women and children where he has trespassed, government neuroscientist Romney Fichte bargains for his freedom with a deeper secret: a biophrastic breakthrough that transmits memories in mRNA through intimate contact.

Found to be a destructive copy useless for espionage, it crippled Romney’s career – yet furnished a tool to remake the world from the top down. But when a first sally by his adored and worldly Aunt Énide left a CIA counterintelligence executive dead, Romney fled Washington to scatter his incriminating memories in a hedonistic mini-cult of strangers on a California orchard. Surviving local notoriety, he’s deranged his partners, purged his guilty conscience and drifted East, seeking signs of Énide’s safety.

But to salvage his ambitions, he must reconstruct them to win release. Sacrificing his amnesia – their preservation under torture – has he the will and tradecraft to save Énide?
