The Interference Method of Measuring Thermal Expansion (Classic Reprint)

This book guides you through the construction, adjustment, and use of an apparatus commonly employed by scientists to measure the thermal expansion of solid materials. Thermal expansion refers to the physical phenomenon where an object increases in volume as its temperature rises. The method discussed in this book involves the use of the interference of light waves to precisely measure this expansion. The manual includes detailed instructions on assembling and calibrating the apparatus, along with techniques for preparing and handling the sample specimens. By providing step-by-step procedures, the author ensures that readers can confidently utilize this valuable tool for their own research. This book is an excellent resource for scientists and students in fields such as materials science, engineering, and physics who seek to accurately determine the thermal expansion properties of various materials.
