Interference Mitigation and Energy Management in 5g Heterogeneous Cellular Networks

Editors Yang and Li present readers with a collection of academic articles, scholarly essays, and research contributions that examine interference mitigation and energy management in 5G cellular networks of various types. The editors have organized the twelve selections that make up the main body of the text in three sections focused on energy-efficient communications and energy management techniques, enhanced interference management technology with featured characteristics, novel mathematical frameworks for interference and energy management. Chungang Yang is currently an associated professor in Xidian University, where Dr. Yang leads the research team of "GUIDE, Game, Utility, Intelligent computing Design for Emerging communications". Dr.Yang received his Bachelor and Doctoral Degree in Xidian University, Xi'an, China, in 2006 and 2011, respectively. Between Sep. 2010 and March 2011, he held the visiting scholar position in the department of electrical and computer engineering at Michigan Technological University. Since July 2011, he has been with Xidian University initially as an assistant professor, and now an associated professor since July 2013. His research interests include resource and interference management, network optimization, and mechanism design for cognitive radio networks, heterogeneous cellular networks, and game theory for wireless communication, computing networks, and network economics. Jiandong Li graduated from Xidian University with Bachelor Degree, Master Degree and Ph. D in Communications and Electronic System respectively in 1982, 1985 and 1991. He is with Xidian University from 1985, an associate professor from 1990 to 1994, professor from 1994, Ph.D student supervisor from 1995, and Dean of School of Telecommunication Engineering, Xidian University from 1997 respectively. Now, he also serves as Executive Vice Dean Graduate School, Xidian University. Dr. Li is a senior member of IEEE and China Institute of Electronics (CIE) and the fellow of China Institute of Communication (CIC). He wasthe member of PCN specialist group for China 863 Communication high technology program between Jan. 1993 and Oct. 1994 and from 1999 to 2000. He is also the member of Communication specialist group for The Ministry of Information Industry. His current research interest and projects are funded by the 863 High Tech Project, NSFC, National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, TRAPOYT, MOE and MOI.
