Contains the true first published work by JDM, a short story entitled "Interlude In India". 2,100 word story written by MacDonald while serving in India in WWII and sent home to his wife Dordo who sent it first to Esquire which turned it down for being too short. She then sent it to Whit & Hallie Burnett of Story Magazine and it was accepted for publication. They sent check for twenty-five dollars to MacDonald's wife. Also includes laid-in the original New York Times obituary for JDM. Unique scarce item for the JDM collector. Note: No International orders for this item.
