About the Author

K. Elayn Martin-Gay has taught Mathematics at the University of New Orleans for more than 20 years and has received numerous teaching awards, including the local University Alumni Association's Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Over the years, Elayn has developed videotaped lecture series to help her students understand algebra better. Margaret (Peg) Greene has taught Mathematics at Florida Community College at Jacksonville for more than 18 years. A recipient of excellence in teaching awards, Peg's experience also includes: being a member of the NASA/AMATYC Coalition: I and II; teaching a telecourse; teaching online courses as well as training instructors to teach via the online environment; developing a video series on using the graphing calculator; conducting workshops; authoring, numerous publications; and teaching at the Southeast Center for Cooperative Learning, certified through the University of Minnesota.
