International Human Rights Law

This timely and valuable book explores the development of international human rights law over the last six decades. The volume brings together leading experts to reflect on different aspects of human rights law, not only considering and evaluating the developments so far, but also identifying relevant problems and proposing relevant possible perspectives for the continued positive future development of human rights law. The book is international in perspective, both in scope and context, and covers developments in the international protection of human rights since the adoption of the UDHR in 1948. Mashood Baderin is Head of the School of Law, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. His research interests are in the areas of Islamic Law, International and Comparative Human Rights Law, Public International Law, Human Rights & Islamic Law, especially interaction between International Law, Human Rights Law, and Islamic Law in Muslim States. He has published extensively on these and related areas. Manisuli Ssenyonjo is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law, Brunel University. His research interests are in the areas of Public International Law, Human Rights, and Comparative Constitutional Law. He has published widely in these areas.
