Print on Demand. This book is an erudite exploration in which the author examines interpretations of the Bible, with particular attention to the value of the New Testament and its Greek texts. The author argues that the Bible has been, and should be, translated with a focus on the meaning that each book originally conveyed to its audience. To do this the author shows how Christian theology has been shaped not only by the words of the Bible, but by the interpretations of words as they were translated. The book incorporates interpretations from various sources and illustrates how certain interpretations became commonplace by discussing the reasons for their inclusion. Through deep dives into specific passages, the author reveals how and why the interpretations favoured by the editors of early texts have shaped the way we view the Bible today. This book is an indispensable guide for those interested in the intricate relationship between translation and theology. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
