About this Item

unn. [80 p.]. This is a pictorial study at a certain point in the life of the interurban railway lines running north and south of the Chicago loop. The trains went north the Milwaukee, with spurs, and south and east along the shore of Lake Michigan to Indiana, with connections to Michigan. The fine black and white photos were taken between 1961 and 1969. The North Shore Line was discontinued in 1963, and the fate of the passenger service on the South Shore Line was hanging in the balance. The book is in scarce supply. Black hard cover, VG+++, no dust jacket. Bookseller Inventory # 01RO
