Dr. Bernard Jensen lectured throughout the U.S. and around the world about health and nutrition. Early on he would tape record his lectures and then later have them typed up into booklets. He would staple them together and sell them through mail order or at his lectures. There are 21 lecture reprint booklets. The information is as timely today as it was when he started teaching about right living in the early 1940's. I have edited, revised and added to the booklets, but left the flavor of that time period and his distinct voice comes through as the content reflects his speaking more than writing style. Writers tend to stay away from writing like they are speaking when writing a book, but Dr. Bernard Jensen was adamant about his self-published books sounding like he was right there with you while you were reading his work. Lecture Reprint Booklet Number Nineteen covers how a person who has intestinal disorders could benefit through fasting and elimination diets. He goes into detail about both. The following are quotes from the book:"In the chapter on Reflex Areas and Remote Symptoms, and in other parts of this book, the importance of the intestinal tract will be stressed. There should be no doubt about the relation between health of the intestinal tract and health in the rest of the body. Intestinal management probably is the most important thing a person can learn in a health-building routine. Some of the most important functions of life take place in the intestines. Through it, worn out cells are eliminated, and new cell structures have their beginning. "Grapes are very high in magnesium, a mineral element which thoroughly cleanses the bowel. I think this is one of the main reasons why grapes are considered the finest of all elimination foods. Magnesium is a bowel element, sodium is a stomach element, silicon a pancreatic element, and iodine is found more in the thyroid than in the other glands.
