Each chapter contains objectives, worked examples and sample problems are included at the end of each chapter. This book was first published in the late 60's by AVI. It remains relevant for post secondary classes in Agricultural Engineering Technology and Agricultural Mechanics, and secondary agriculture teachers.

The third edition has been thoroughly updated and reorganized to meet the current units and standards of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE).

Harry L. Field is an Associate Professor of Agricultural Mechanics in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Oklahoma State University.
John B. Solie is a Professor of Biomachinery in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Oklahoma State University.
