Introduction to Banach Algebras, Operators, and Harmonic Analysis: 57 (London Mathematical Society Student Texts, 57)

Based on lectures given at an instructional course, this volume enables readers with a basic knowledge of functional analysis to access key research in the field. The authors survey several areas of current interest, making this volume ideal preparatory reading for students embarking on graduate work as well as for mathematicians working in related areas.

Based on lectures given at an instructional course, this volume is intended as a pathway to research for those with a basic knowledge of functional analysis. The book surveys several areas of current research interest and is ideal as preparatory reading for students embarking on graduate work as well as mathematicians working in related areas. The authors each convey the flavour of their topic and give basic definitions and motivation examples. There are plenty of references for those who wish to pursue a topic in a greater amount of detail.
