About the Author

K.S. Thyagarajan, Ph.D. received his Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. He is currently a professor at the UCSD Extension Program, teaching an online course in digital signal processing. His previous positions include Chief Scientist at Micro USA, Inc., Consultant at SAIC, Inc., Principal Engineer at Qualcomm, Inc., and Professor at San Diego State University. His previous book publications include Digital Image Processing with Application to Digital Cinema (Elsevier, Inc. 2006) and Still Image and Video Compression with MATLAB (John Wiley 2011).
