About the Author: Marcovitz is Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Florida Atlantic University. He received Bachelors and Masters degrees in electrical engineering from M.I.T., and a Ph.D. from Columbia University. He taught at the University of Maryland and then went on to found the Department of Electrical Engineering at Florida Atlantic University in 1970.
