Add to basket"Marco" [154] pp. Country Life Limited 1937 Second Edition 10" x 7 3/4" Drawing on the jacket is by Major John Board This book, first published in 1931, was actually written in its entirety by the Earl of Mountbatten (who is only officially credited with the preface). Marco is a pseudonym, a pun on the title. Though his actual polo-playing skills were reported to be unexceptional, Mountbatten understood the technique of the game brilliantly, and this has become a classic book on the sport. Includes black & white photogravure plates. I remember when I first started to play polo . . . Lord Mountbatten thrust a copy of his book into my hand and wrote in the front page from Great Uncle Marco. --H.R.H. Prince Charles of Wales.
