David Spurling B. Sc., P.G.C.E, D.G.A, F.C.I.L.T, is the founder of Learning Through Cooperation Ltd and its subsidiary, LTC Kenya, which demonstrates his interest in developing countries. He has taught people from more than fifty countries and was a member of the Nigerian Business Examinations council. He uses this diversity of teaching to make his books relevant. He has taught in a wide variety of schools and colleges, including being a senior lecturer in Transport Economics at what is now Birmingham City University. He has been a statistics examiner for the then Chartered Institute of Transport. He has had fourteen textbooks published by major publishers, demonstrating his ability as a writer. His interest in politics is shown by having been a councilor in Southend and the Swale Borough Council, as well as being a parliamentary candidate in Meriden.
