118, 2 (ads.) 1824. Third edition. 12mo. sized. A very good, essentially clean, tight copy of this the very scarce third edition. There doesn't seem to be a single copy of this edition in any UK library (see Copac). Bound in contemporary full calf leather - no title block or title inscription to the spine. One inscription has been rubbed out to the front paste-down and a neat modern printed former owner's bookplate is pasted below this to the front paste-down. A very neat former owner's ink name (John Houston Glasgow) has been crossed through and another of Duncan McLean has replaced it with the date May 1st 1868 (H G Academy) - all to the secondary title page. Very neat ink and pencil annotations and marginalia has been added to a number of the pages. Rubbing to the margins of the leather boards - most notably to the four board corners with some loss. The leather now fed/dressed. A scarce third edition copy of a scarce book in any edition.
