xviii, 230 pp., [1]. 8vo. Signed by W.S. Kindersley (Lt. in the British Forces). Does not include the separately published Atlas of Plates extracted from his larger work 'Treatise on Fortification and Artillery.' OCLC shows only a single copy of this second edition at Cambridge Univ., two of the 1859 New ed., and none of a first, nor of the Atlas volume. Boards and spine stained, wear to extremities, else a very good copy with the bookplate of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, Commandery of the State of Illinois on front pastedown, shelf label on foot of backstrip; one leaf opened roughly, a few leaves still unopened, contemporary owner's name on title page.
