Small (7.5x5") hardcover bound in original green cloth, gold lettering on spine, 10th, 220pp + 4 pages of ads; inside the front cover is pasted in a form letter presenting the book to Uriah Bairstow, who would become a well-known Yorkshire naturalist, as the Queen's Prize in 1877 from the Science and Arts Department of the Committee of Council on Education. CONDITION: Cover somewhat rubbed on edges, very slight fraying at top of spine, 1/2" of upper edge on spine on front cover is worn though, lower two inches of cover has very minor dulling and slight rippling due to brief encounter with moisture; binding a little loose at back of book; pages in nice condition with only an occasional age spot. ** We are a small family business selling fine new and pre-owned books online since 1999.
