A well received novel by the Welsh author. Although it was the first she wrote publication was delayed on the advice of her husband, the novelist Charles Morgan. The book is the story of Daniel Evans, a tenant farmer, who is forced out of his farm when a Miss Webster inherits it from her uncle. Through his tenacity, Evans attempts to get his farm back. Country Life described tha book as 'one of the best novels of this year'. 400 grams.
