A deluxe, reprint edition presenting a report by a US Senate Select Committee, investigating the attack on a military arsenal at Harper's Ferry, Virginia (now West Virginia) in 1859. Led by Abolitionist John Brown, the attack was unsuccessful and most of the twenty-three participants were either killed during the attack or executed afterwards. An entry in the Notable Trials Library series. Includes an introduction by series chairman Alan M. Dershowitz. A sealed copy in shrink wrap with bookplate sticker laid in but not affixed to the book. (Note: Other, unsealed entries in this series included illustrations and an image of the original title pages, which is likely the case with this item.) --- In green cloth backed in darker green bonded leather, with fancy decorations in gilt to covers & spine, titling in gilt to spine, with four raised spine bands and sewn-in satin ribbon placemarker.
