424 p., clean and unmarked anywhere but with faint staining in gutter between front end page and half t.p. Binding firm but back gutter cracked. Gilt lettering green front board showing blind stamped image of Viking ship in full sail is bright, but lettering on spine is faded. Corners show some bumping and there is light rubbing at crown foot of spine panel. No d.j. Colophon on copyright page shows signature of Rudyard Kipling (holograph) with swastika symbol--in pre-Nazi days associated with India.
