Some Inventory Models for Sustainable Deteriorating Items

This book presents mathematical models for sustainable inventory management by integrating economic, technological, financial and environmental factors. It focuses on deteriorating inventory and examines the effects of preservation technology, inflation, trade credit and carbon-emission costs on optimal inventory decisions. Mathematical formulations are developed to determine optimal replenishment policies, preservation investment and minimum total cost under realistic operating conditions. Numerical examples and sensitivity analyses are used to study the influence of key parameters such as deterioration rate, demand, ordering cost, inflation rate, trade-credit period and carbon-emission cost. By integrating conventional inventory costs with sustainability and financial considerations, the book provides a comprehensive framework for modern supply-chain optimisation.
