The present book, invisible children: a study of policyexclusion, investigates a particular government of India policy known as the integrated child Development Scheme (I CDS). the I CDS operatesamongst the poorer sections of the population in India, for pre-school children in the age range of 0-6 years. Although it states that it is for " all" children, It does not, in practice, address the question of disabled children. The research examines why and how such a major social policy in the country has segregatedthe disabled children from its agenda. The findings indicate the gap between policy stated and policy enacted and focuses on the lack of cohesion in directives for the implementation of inclusion into practice.
