Invisible Man

limited edition of Ralph Ellison’s landmark novel, illustrated by Steven H. Stroud. Bound in full burgundy leather with elaborate gilt decoration to the boards and spine, raised spine bands, gilt lettering, all page edges gilt, decorative endpapers, and a bound-in satin ribbon marker. The binding remains firm and square, with bright gilt decoration and a clean interior. Minor shelf wear and slight natural variation to the gilt page edges are visible under direct lighting. No names, writing, bookplates, or other ownership markings observed. No dust jacket, as issued. Published by The Franklin Library in 1980 as part of its collectible limited-edition program. An attractive copy of one of the most important American novels of the twentieth century.
