Ireland is Down (Paperback or Softback)

A Nation Silenced. A Battle for Truth. A Struggle for Survival.

December 2028. Ireland falls overnight. A Russian-backed coup overthrows the government, replacing it with the pro-Kremlin Irish Restoration Government. RTÉ is seized, the airwaves turned into a weapon of propaganda, and foreign troops land on Irish soil under the guise of "peacekeeping." NATO watches from the sidelines, unwilling to ignite a war, while the UK reels from the sudden collapse of its closest neighbour.

Carl Peterson, a veteran radio broadcaster, finds himself trapped in Dublin, forced to navigate the shifting tides of an occupied Ireland. With his son held under strict surveillance at RTÉ and his every broadcast monitored by Russian political officers, he must tread carefully-balancing his role as a journalist with his covert ties to British intelligence.

Across the Irish Sea, MI6 scrambles to make sense of the situation. In Berlin and London, intelligence officers work to unravel Moscow's endgame. But as the world fixates on Ireland, Russian submarines lurk beneath the Atlantic, shadowing the UK's nuclear deterrent, and a hidden battle for the fate of Europe is already underway.

In a world where propaganda is truth and silence is survival, who will have the final say?

The airwaves have fallen. Ireland is down. But the fight is far from over.

A keen listener of British CHR radio, Thomas's love affair with radio came in the early 2000s, as a keen listener of Wolverhampton's Beacon FM. Now, 20 years later, still listening to radio as a preferred medium at Breakfast, Thomas, as a 30something, has started writing fiction set in the world of Manic Radio, a fictional radio station.
