Item description from seller

Ireland: Historical and Statistical; by George Lewis Smyth; Vol. I; London: Whittaker and Co., Ave Maria Lane; MDCCCXLIV. This is the first volume in a three-volume set with the other volumes being published in 1847 and 1849, respectively. An important and thorough history with a focus on the connection with England. This volume,368 pages, is in near fine condition. The only fault is wear on the bottom of the boards. It is half bound in green leather with marbled boards and edges. I wish I had all 3 volumes it would be a spectacular set of Irish history and expensive. I can only offer this first volume at a fraction of its value.
