Mangan (1803-1849) has been considered a political poet due to his friendship with Thomas Davis and John Mitchel, who published him in "The Nation." Recent criticism tends more to reflect his influence on literary figures such as Yeats and Joyce. In ill health, Mangan died early of cholera, and never reached his full potential. This is a Near Fine copy of the First Edition Thus - a "New Edition." A scarce title. Green paper wraps with titling on the front cover in a brighter green. Clean Text; 144 pages.
