Synopsis
A stranger visits Holmes and Watson in Baker Street, and informs them that he is dead and has just attended his own funeral. The stranger goes on to explain the instance of this death and his waking up in a hospital morgue. How the wishes expressed in his last will and testament regarding his estate and funeral arrangements were totally ignored and the level of indignity shown to his corpse bordering on abuse. How are most sinister set of circumstances developed in the story involving conspiracy and the frightening sequence of events culminating in the revelation of an astonishing secret from the Titanic, still able to shock, months after its fateful sinking. The murderous Federates, in a different form, are still in existence and seeking revenge, despite the fact that their leader, Adam Worth, the 'Napoleon of Crime', was walled up in a mausoleum some months previously. The story culminates in a devastating revelation of how, in this era of 1911, the Titans of industrial and financial might, the successors to those after whom the RMS Titanic boat was named, are still locked in mortal combat with each other as they vie for domination of their world. 'The Iron Titan' is the fourth novel in the Holmes series by Stephen Lees and continues to be witty, informative and humorous.
About the Author
Stephen Lees is American but attended boarding school in England. Having graduated with a law degree from the University of East Anglia he went up to Lincoln’s Inn in London to train as a barrister. His first book, ‘Visions of Architecture’, was published by Bloomsbury in 2011 and is about the construction process and why buildings are designed in a certain manner. Lees published the first volume in his epic pantology of novels about Sherlock Holmes – ‘The Iron Mausoleum’, a shocking account of the true story behind the sinking of the Titanic – in 2012. Two further volumes followed: ‘The Iron Vault’ and ‘The Iron Soul’. The Iron Titan is the fourth volume in the series. The entire pantology is available on Amazon and for Kindle. The books are notable for their historical veracity and vivid descriptions of Victorian and Edwardian architecture, as well as the atmospheric descriptions of the seething underbelly of contemporary London and New York. They also contain a number of original illustrations by the author. Stephen Lees lives in London. He can usually be found at the bar in the Groucho Club. He aspires to membership of the Duquesne Club in Pittsburgh.
