Biographical Sketch of Imam Siddeeq Jihad Imam Siddeeq Jihad has been a part of the Muslim community, since September, 1973. He supports the leadership of Imam W. Deen Mohammed and is a member of the Muslim American Society. Imam Siddeeq also supports all sincere Muslims and other people of faith who believe G-d, the last day and practice righteous deeds. He has seriously studied Qur’aanic Arabic, since 1978. Rowland Saafir of Detroit was his first regular teacher. Imam Jihad feels a great sense of thanks to Allah, Prophet Muhommed, upon him be peace, Imam W. Deen Mohammed, Rowland Saafir and his now deceased Arabic study companion, Abdul-Qayyoom K. Muhammad for inspiring him to continue his Arabic studies and study The Qur’aan. From the aforementioned inspiration, he went on to take Arabic 101, 102, 201 & 202, which were taught by the inspiring and demanding, Dr. Abdul-Munim Shakir of Wayne County Community College. Imam Jihad also feels a great sense of appreciation and thanks to Dr. Shakir. Since the completion of the Arabic Courses at WC3, he has continued to study Qur’aanic Arabic and apply the knowledge to the study of The Qur’aan. He has also had Arabic learning sessions with Dr. Sherman Abdul-Hakim Jackson of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor at the ISNA complex in Plainfield, Indiana and Sheik Ali Suleiman Ali, a native of Ghana, Africa, now living in Detroit.
Imam Siddeeq has conducted Arabic seminars at our Islamic National Conventions, from 1992 - 1999. Among the cities he has conducted workshops in are: Detroit, Dearborn, Saginaw & Flint, Michigan, Atlanta, Ga., Memphis, Tenn., Akron, Cleveland, Springfield, Toledo, Ohio, Gary, Ind., Jacksonville, Florida, Tallahassee, Florida, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Michigan City, Indiana, South Bend, Indiana, Rocky Mount, N.C., White Plains, N.Y., Camden, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Ca., Chicago, Ill., Secaucus, N.J., Philadelphia, Pa., Quitman and New Medina, Mississippi. He is continuing to conduct weekend seminars throughout the country.
Imam Siddeeq has taught Arabic in the Adult Education Department at Ferndale High School in Michigan and masaajid and Islamic centers in the Detroit area. In addition to this activity, he is a host and lecturer for a cable access TV program, Al-Islam in Focus produced by Mikal Akhtab. The show is currently viewed on ComCast, Channel 20, Thursdays: 7:00 P.M. and 10:00 P.M in the following Michigan cities: Allen Park, Berlin Twp., Flat Rock, Grosse Ile, Taylor, Melvindale, Rockwood, South Rockwood, Brownstown, Ecorse, Garden City, Inkster, River Rouge and Southgate. On Wednesdays at 6:00 P.M. it is aired on the public access stations of Belleville and Romulus, Michigan. Islam In Focus has also aired in other Michigan cities: Ferndale, Oak Park, Pleasant Ridge, Huntington Woods, Berkley, Royal Oak, Clawson, Troy, Rochester and Rochester Hills and Oakland Township. The program has also aired in Rocky Mount, N.C. and Chicago, Ill. Auburn Hills, Michigan will be added to the TV ! viewing venues alongwith other cities in the United States and possibly other English-speaking nations or audiences around the world.
Imam Siddeeq is the author of the book and audio tape, Qur’aanic Arabic Keys and a book/audio tape, The Muslim Prayer Made Easy: A New English Transliteration Method.
Imam Siddeeq Jihad is also the publisher of a monthly publication entitled, The Good News Journal. It is geared to all people of faith. Imam Jihad has founded the Qur’aanic Arabic Foundation, which spreads Qur’aanic Arabic amongst English-speaking people around the world. He believes methodology is crucial in imparting the language.
Imam Jihad alongwith several believers in Inkster, Michigan have begun to re-establish an Islamic Center in Inkster, Michigan. Jumuah and Arabic classes are conducted by Imam Siddeeq.
