First edition. Octavo. viii, 152 pp. Publisher's blind-ruled blue cloth with gilt spine lettering. Previous owner's name nicely penned at bottom of title page (diminutive hand) and front free endpaper (lined out), negligible extremity wear. A very clean copy in very good publisher's cloth.Francis William Astonn was a British chemist and physicist. In the same year as this publication he won the Nobel Prize in Chemisty for his discovery of Isotopes in many non-radioactive elements. He was a pioneer in modern techniques of mass spectrometry and it was through this instrument that he made his discoveries.
