Issues and Values in Sport and Leisure Cultures (Csrc Editions)

This collection of essays explores a number of issues, primarily concerned with value, which might arise from the study and practice of sport. Although predominantly sociological, the text emphasizes the diversity possible within both approaches or methodologies and topics within legitimate studies of sport: thus, some chapters should be seen as philosophy, others as politics, yet others as policy studies.

Marc Keech lectures in sport and leisure studies in the Chelsea School, University of Brighton. His major research interests include the politics and history of domestic and international sports policy. Graham McFee is Professor of Philosophy in the University of Brighton. His recent publications include Dance, Education & Philosophy (Meyer & Meyer 1999 - CSRC Volume 7)
