Blue cloth with gilt titles. 672 pages and publisher's catalogue bound in to rear. Colour frontis with protective fly-leaf. Bears the armorial bookplate of J Newton Mappin, with an inscription to ffep from Mappin family members, dated 1892. Mappin of Mappin and Webb, silversmith and jeweller. Uncut pages. Complete with fold out colour plans/maps. All in excellent condition. This was Hodgkin's second volume in the wider series and comprises two books within, being The Hunnish Invasion and the Vandal Invasion & Herculean Mutiny. Very good condition overall.
