[iv]+282pp, engraved frontis, engraved title, letterpress title, 4 b/w plates, all edges gilt, bevel edged boards rubbed at the corners, cloth with a repaired split along the rear hinge, cloth grubby with the gilt image of a woman cradling a baby looking out at ships on a calm sea still clear & fairly bright, occasional grubby mark inside, a fair copy. Moral tale from the author who had written the million selling 'Her Benny' about street urchins in Liverpool in 1878. Silas Kitto Hocking [ 1850 - 1938 ] Cornish novelist & methodist preacher. 400 grams.
