Western Contemporary Romance - J.D. Martin, a former policewoman in New York City, is trying to start her business as a private investigator. This is Ms. Butler's third romance novel and her first contemporary. Although she resides in Illinois, her heart is in the west. She's quickly becoming known as someone who writes a different type of romance with a little bit of shoot-em-up, a little humor and a whole lot of romance. She's the author of "The Colonel's Widow" and "Trailboss" also westerns, but historicals. She's working on a three book trilogy with the first of the series placed in Southern Illinois pre-Civil War. The second gets her back in the west as hero and heroine travel from Cairo, Illinois to Ft. Benton, Montana on a riverboat and the third is placed in Virginia City, Montana. Master of the Black Night should be out in fall or winter 2001 followed by Calico Queen and Libby.
