Includes his capture at Kennesaw Mountain in June 1864; as a prisoner of war at Camp Douglas, Illinois; his journey home; and how he came to join an infantry company. Yeager (1842-1940) served with the 29th Tennessee Infantry (Confederate) until his capture. After the war he was a lawyer in Tennessee, then a newspaperman and farmer in Johnson County, Texas. Rare.
