JOEL POINSETT (1779-1851). Poinsett was an American politician, botanist and the countrys first Minister to Mexico. He is best remembered for bringing the poinsettia to the country.Document. 1pg. 14 x 8 . November 26, 1853. Charleston, South Carolina. A partly printed document acknowledging that the last will and testament of Joel Poinsett was approved on December 31, 1851, and that his widow, Mary Poinsett, was the executrix. The sea foam green document has three vertical folds and a slight chip to the top margin, and it is in fine condition.
