Quarter crimson morocco gilt with marbled paper-covered boards, slipcase, small 4to., xiv, (1), 24, (1) pages, 46 original wood engravings printed two on each recto page + fronticepiece and vignette by John Bewick. One of 140 numbered copies designed and printed by David Esslemont from Scotch Roman type on BFK Rives Velin Cuve paper and signed by the printer. This is one of 95 copies in a very attractive binding by Esslemont. But for a trace of wear to the board tips, a fine copy in a fine fleece-lined, grey paper-covered board slipcase.
