Second Edition preface dated 1843. Foreword by Joseph Grego. Hilarious tales odf sporting Life by the author of Handley Cross. Excellently illustrated with 19 Colour and 9 Black & White Plates by Phiz and Co. Protected by Tissue Guards. In addition there's a Colour Frontis Illustration of John Jorrocks and an Illustrated Title Page. Green cloth cover with bright gilt "Crossed foxtails" on the front. Faded yellow lettering to spine. 272 Pages, 10 1/2" Tall. Some parchy loss of colour to fore edges at front 7 back (see photo). Pages and plates are in very good clean condition. Hinges sound, Binding firm. From the library of Sir Bernard Oppenheimer, Bart., his Heraldic Bookplate is on the front endpaper. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
