THE JOURNEY DIET: A SELF-DIRECTED APPROACH TO LOSING WEIGHT

What is it about people’s attitude toward “dieting” that is so absolutely negative? How do we get into this mental state where we accept our overweight condition? Why is it that we have such a difficult time addressing our unhealthy lifestyle?Well, the answer is rather simple. Going on a diet is difficult. It ain’t fun ! It is not an enjoyable experience. We don’t want to spend hours in a gym. We don’t want to eat the special microwave meals that we have to buy or that are delivered to our front door. We don’t want to be required to use a calculator to determine if we can or cannot have any particular item for a snack.We enjoy our current lifestyle. We don’t want to change the way we live or stop eating the things we love. And therefore, we determine that dieting is “not for me.” We think, I’m not about to undergo some miserable experience to lose weight . My happiness is important. It’s definitely more important than shedding some pounds.If dieting were fun, we’d all be skinny as a rail. But we all realize, or at least we should realize, that being overweight is unhealthy. Many of us realize that we really should address this issue. But we think, I just don’t want to go through the whole dieting thing. It’s hard … it’s difficult … it’s not fun. And many of us have tried dieting. And it either didn’t work for whatever reason, or the weight came right back.What if I told you of a way to lose weight where you don’t have to stop eating the things you love. And you don’t have to join a gym and go on some exercise regimen. What if I told you that I know of a way to enjoy the experience. What if I told you of a process where it’s not difficult to lose weight. And what if I told you this process will vastly improve your chances of keeping the weight off for the rest of your life.I invite you to go on a journey of discovery. A journey where you will discover the reason you are heavier than you should be; and probably heavier than you would like to be. It's a journey where you will learn to slowly modify what you eat in terms of both quantity and quality. You will not have to give up the things you love while on this journey. You will teach yourself to east less of these items and less frequently. It’s a journey where you will teach yourself to slowly modify your lifestyle. And the important word here is SLOWLY.This is not a fast weight-loss process. How long will it take to lose the weight? How long is the journey? That’s entirely up to you. This is a self-directed and self-controlled journey to an improved lifestyle.THE JOURNEY DIET is a book I’ve written that documents my journey to a vastly improved lifestyle. It is not a diet book.
