CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Ends of spine are rubbed. Top corner of book is worn with boards showing, edges rubbed. Interior is very clean and free of marks. Overall a VG copy. CONTEN TS DESCRIPTION: Friedrich Adolph Wislizenus (first name sometimes spelled Frederick) was a German-born American MD, explorer and botanist. Accompanying one of the expeditions of the Rocky Mountain Fur Company, he traveled far into the northwest, towards the source of Green River in the Wind River Mountains. When the trappers turned back home, Wislizenus joined a band of Flathead and Nez Perce Indians with whom he crossed the Rocky Mountains.
