This striking edition is bound in full genuine green leather with elaborate gilt bamboo and foliage decoration to the covers and spine, raised bands, and gilt lettering. Gilt page edges, moiré silk endpapers, and a silk ribbon page marker complete the presentation. The volume contains selections from both THE JUNGLE BOOK and THE SECOND JUNGLE BOOK, including Kipling’s famous Mowgli stories together with the other tales selected for this edition. David Gentleman’s illustrations complement the text throughout. CONDITION: Fine overall. The green leather remains attractive and the gilt decoration is bright. The binding is tight and square, with clean text and apparently unmarked pages. Gilt page edges remain very nice, with only minor age-related toning to portions and light handling wear.
