(UKPresumed First Edition ) No markings, some light rubbing to cover edges, there is a square about 5" x 5" cut out of the bottom of the first page after the front endpaper, resumably to remove an inscription, pages clean, about Very Good with tattered dust jacket with the front panel missing; the dust jacket is in three pieces and these are laid into the book. 34 x 25 cm, red buckram with gold spine title, 468pp. B&W photos and reproductions of art works; colour tipped-in plates. Bilbo was born Hugo Baruch in 1913 in Berlin and died in 1967. He fled the Nazis in 1936 and settled in London where he founded the Modern Art Gallery in 1941.
